"Gastro-Heucobs 14 kg"
"Quick Cobs" consist of selected grasses and valuable meadow herbs that are gently dried at low temperatures after harvest, preserving the valuable nutrients and vital substances completely. A key characteristic of "Quick Cobs" is their short and effective soaking time. For this reason, they represent a real alternative to conventional hay cobs. Their use is especially recommended for thin, hard-to-feed horses and older horses with dental problems.
Furthermore, they can be used instead of the basic feed (approx. 1 kg per 100 kg body weight/day) or to enhance the basic feed (1 kg Quick Cobs replaces 1.2 kg hay). If needed, 1 kg of hay cobs can be soaked with 2-3 liters of water.
The main key points of "Quick Cobs" are:
✓ Optimal, superior to conventional hay cobs, fast solubility in water
The discs shaped and dried using warm air drying are characterized by easy handling and a quick, short soaking time.
✓ Low in starch and reduced fructan content
Due to the reduced starch content, blood sugar levels can be controlled more effectively. This helps prevent metabolic disorders, especially in predisposed horses. Fructan cannot be broken down by enzymes in the horse’s small intestine and reaches the large intestine. There, the breakdown of fructans alters the gut flora, producing gases and toxins that can cause digestive problems. If the toxins enter the bloodstream, liver damage may result, as well as skin itching and painful laminitis.
✓ Molasses-free and rich in herbs
The high-quality herbs from the species-rich meadows of the Lake Constance region and the absence of molasses support optimal digestibility and a regulated metabolism.
✓ High digestibility of ingredients
The selected raw materials are highly digestible and complement each other to form a highly tolerable formula, especially suitable for horses with reduced chewing and digestive activity.
✓ Compensation for deficiencies due to poor hay quality or haylage feeding
The origin of the ingredients used for producing "Quick Cobs" as well as the unique drying process after harvest ensure a high nutrient profile of this product and can counteract deficiencies caused by poor hay quality.
